If you died today, are you 100% sure you'd go to heaven?

Do you know who God is?

God is a Trinity.  1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” The Word is Jesus Christ. About 2000 years ago, Jesus came to earth in a human body. John 1:14 “…the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” 2 John 1:7 “…Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.” Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God and He is God Himself at the same time. That is the essence of the Trinity. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” 1 Timothy 3:16 “…God was manifest in the flesh…”

Do you know what God can do?

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Psalm 147:5 “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.” Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Job 42:1-2 “Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.” Matthew 9:4 “And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?” Hebrews 9:27 “…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment…”

Have you sinned?

Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft… Envyings, murders, drunkenness…and such like…”Exodus 20:7-16 “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain… Thou shalt not commit adultery. [Matthew 5:28 “…whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”] Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour…” Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” Proverbs 21:4 “An high look, and a proud heart…is sin.”Proverbs 24:9 “The thought of foolishness is sin…” 1 John 5:17 “All unrighteousness is sin…” 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves…” Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned…” Luke 16:22-24 “…the rich man also died… And in hell…he cried and said… I am tormented in this flame.” Mark 9:43 “…into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched…” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…” Revelation 21:8 “…all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” As flawed beings, we can’t comprehend how bad sin is. No amount of good deeds can ever make up for the bad things we’ve done. Isaiah 64:6 “…we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” Trying to be a “good person” has nothing to do with getting to heaven. You can never be good enough to get to heaven. Psalms 39:5 “…every man at his best state is altogether vanity…”

God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”Repentance from what ? “…repentance from dead works…” (Hebrews 6:1) Because salvation from hell is “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:9)

Well, if you can’t work your way to heaven, then how do you get there?

There is only one wayMatthew 7:14 “…strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life…” John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Jesus was the only man who never sinned. Hebrews 4:14-15 “…Jesus the Son of God… was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” 1 Peter 2:21-22 “…Christ…did no sin…” 1 John 3:5 “…ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.” The religious leaders hated Jesus so much, they got Him tortured and nailed to a cross. Do you know why Jesus allowed Himself to be killed? Blood is required to get rid of sin. Hebrews 9:22-28 “…without shedding of blood is no remission… he…put away sin by the sacrifice of himself… So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many…” Jesus loved you so much, He took your punishment for you. 1 Peter 3:18 “…Christ…suffered for sins, the just for the unjust…” Romans 1:16 “…the gospel of Christ…is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “…I declare unto you the gospel… that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…” In Revelation 1:5, John said of those who have been “born again”: “Jesus Christ…washed us from our sins in his own blood…” Ephesians 1:5-7 “…Jesus Christ… In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace…” Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith…” Romans 10:8-13 “…the word of faith… That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 6:23 “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” You can receive that gift and be permanently saved from hell right now. 2 Corinthians 6:2 “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation…”

Admit that you’re a sinner (Luke 18:9-14, 23:41, 1 John 1:8), unable to save yourself (Acts 13:39)

Pray to the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:13), proclaiming your belief (Acts 8:37, Romans 10:9), trusting in Him and what He did for you (Romans 3:22-26, 5:8, 10:3-4), and…

ASK HIM TO SAVE YOU FROM HELL (Luke 23:42-43)

If you, with a believing heart, asked the Lord Jesus to save you, He did. He promised He would. (Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 1:1, Hebrews 10:23, 1 John 2:25) You will inevitably sin again, but all your sins of the past, present, and future (Hebrews 7:22-27, 9:11-12, 10:12) are washed away by the blood of Christ, so your future mistakes can never take away your salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) You are a new creature (John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 5:17), an adopted child of God (John 1:12, Romans 8:15-16), safe forever (Hebrews 7:25), and guaranteed a place in heaven. (John 14:2-3) Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” 1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” John 10:28 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” Ephesians 4:30 “…the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

I’m saved… Now what?

Now that you know the Lord Jesus has saved you, how can you show Him your gratitude? (Acts 9:6) You will stand before Him to be judged on how you spent the rest of your life after you were saved. (2 Corinthians 5:10-11, Titus 2:12, 3:14, 1 Corinthians 15:58) Will you be rewarded or ashamed? (1 Corinthians 3:11-15, Revelation 3:16) Study the Holy Bible every day… John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words…” 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
